Marvin Jennings, 84, of Napoleon, Ohio died this Tuesday morning, November 17, 2009 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio.

 

   Marvin R. Jennings, 84, of Bowling Green, Ohio, formerly of McClure, died Tuesday, November 17, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio.  
   He was born on June 11, 1925 in McClure to the late Ray A. and Geneva (Whitehead) Jennings.  On October 3, 1943, he married Aleyanne "Anne" Roberts who survives in Bowling Green, Ohio. 
   Marvin was a farmer. He was also employed at Norwalk Truck Line from 1952 to 1963 as a diesel mechanic. After his retirement, he owned and operated "Jennings Sales and Service", a small engine repair service behind his home outside of McClure from 1967 to 1975.  He was also a  wood carver craftsman. He hand carved beautiful wood items for family and friends.  He was a W.W.II Navy Veteran, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Malinta, presently attending Hakins Community Babtist Church after moving to Bowling Green.  He a member of the Bevelheymer-Gilliland American Legion Post # 400 of Malinta, Ohio and a member of the Luther R. Kolbe VFW Post #8218 of Napoleon, Ohio.  He was on the LST National Organization Board for 9 years and Organized the Ohio Chapter of LST.  He was a member and past president of the Malinta Community Parks Board and a member of the 1943 graduating class of McClure.
   He is also survived by a son, Ronald ( Joanne ) Jennings of Avon, N.Y., and a daughter, Ramona Jennings of Bowling Green, Ohio, 3 Grandchildren, Amy and Jill Jennings, and Benjamin Fouts, 3 Great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Zelma Johnson of McClure, Ohio, and Doris Jean Fuhrhop of West Des Moines, Iowa.  He was preceded in death by a son, Scott Jennings, a granddaughter, Holly Potts, and  sisters, Irene Smith and Esther Wittenberg.
   Visitation will be at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon on Thursday, November 19  from 2-8 PM.  and on Friday 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
   Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at the Hockman Cemetery in McClure, Ohio with honors accorded by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
   The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or to a charity of the donor's choice.
