Pastor William C. Wicks, 62, of McClure, Ohio died Friday morning, January 1, 2010 at his home.
He was born December 18, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to the late William C. and Lillie Mae (Shannon) Wicks, Sr. On September 26, 1970 he married Carolyn A. Schnaath in St. Louis, Missouri and she survives.
Bill graduated with a Bachelor’s of Theology from Grace Bible College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was currently the Pastor at Westhope Bible Church, McClure and previously at Grace Bible Church, Bruce, Wisconsin. He was also the former Maintenance & Transportation Supervisor for HOPE Services of McClure and Napoleon, Ohio. Pastor was an avid baseball card collector and dealer.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn; his four children, Carlene (Dave) Minard, Clarksville, Michigan; Judy (Tobin) Powers, McClure; William H. (Becca) Wicks, Grants Pass, Oregon and Tim (Jenna Lerch) Wicks, Ann Arbor, Michigan; 7 grandchildren, Jeffrey Mestaz; Elizabeth Minard; Lillie Minard; Grace Powers; Haley Powers; Eli Powers and Belle Powers; one expected grandchild; and a sister, Betty Ann (Roy) Kentish, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Sowl and Lynn Wicks.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Westhope Bible Church, McClure. Interment will be in the Richfield Township Cemetery and a luncheon will follow in the church basement.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, Ohio and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the church prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice.
