Barbara J. McDaniels, 67, of Napoleon, Ohio died Sunday, January 3, 2010 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.
Barbara J. Brown-McDaniels, 67, of Napoleon, formerly of Malinta, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 3, 2009 surrounded by her family at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio.
She was born August 25, 1942 in Deshler, Ohio to the late Oscar & Evelyn (Campbell) Overmeyer. On June 24, 1960, she married Robert Brown, who preceded her in death on February 12, 1995. Then she married Donald "Mac" McDaniels on October 26, 2002, who survives in Napoleon.
Barb worked at Me & Mom's Carry Out in Malinta and the Napoleon Filling Home. The love of her life was children. She was a foster parent to 17 children over a 20 year period. She was a member of the Malinta United Methodist Church and the Malinta Child Conservation League.
She is also survived by children, Peggy (Chris) Sauder of Napoleon, Susan (Andrew) Shanks of Malinta, Joseph Brown of Napoleon, and Bradley (Dawn) Brown of Napoleon; step children, Barry (Tracy) McDaniels of Malinta, and Kathy (James) Davis of Archbold; 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Richard) Cass of Leipsic, Rosemary (Paul) Sheley of McClure; and a brother, Dennis (Charmane) Overmeyer of Clearmont, FL. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry Brown, a foster daughter, Bethany Schaffer, and a brother, Bobby Overmeyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday with visitation from 10-11 a.m. at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon with Pastor Wes Hoffmire officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Memory Gardens of Defiance. A luncheon will follow at Crossroads Church in Napoleon.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon.
Memorials are to be made to the family of Barb McDaniels, so they can distribute them as they wish.
