May 2, 1925-January 12, 2010Edith Rosemary "Rose" Wensink-Wagner, 84, of Deshler, died Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center, Deshler.
Born May 2, 1925 in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Mathias & Matilda (Wannamaker) Schumaker. On June 14, 1947, she married Robert Wensink, and he preceded her in death in 1972. In 1985, she then married Donald Wagner and they made their home in Swanton, Ohio.
A homemaker, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and was previously employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, The Deshler Flag and Thatcher Insurance Agency.
Surviving are her children, Nancy (Stephen) Hoffman, of Vienna, Virginia; Jane Wright (Robert) Haggerty, of Deshler; Michael (Betty) Wensink, of Strongsville, Ohio and Jody Wensink, of Washington, D.C.; and seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were sisters, Madonna Gallant and Sylvia Wiley and brother, Donald Schumaker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler with Fr. Jeffrey Nordhaus officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Custar, and a luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday at the church prior to the Mass.
The family suggests memorials be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Henry County Special Olympics or to a charity of the donor's choice.
