Robert S. Ferrell, 85, of Custar, Ohio died Monday night, February 1, 2010 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center, Deshler, Ohio.

April 20, 1924-February 1, 2010Robert Scott Ferrell, 85, of Custar, died Monday, February 1, 2010 at Oak Grove Healthcare Center, Deshler, Ohio.
He was born April 20, 1924 in Custar, to the late William Forrest and Gertrude (Mercer) Ferrell. On March 31, 1946 he married Ruth Jean Haas at Westhope Bible Church, Westhope, Ohio and she survives.
Bob was a lifelong Wood County farmer. A 1942 graduate of Milton Township High School, he served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II in the South Pacific Theater. Bob was past president of the Great Western Sugarbeet Growers Association; member of The Gideons; Farm Bureau; Farmers Union; American Agriculture Movement; supervisor for Wood County Soil and Water Conservation and faithful member of Westhope Bible Church.
He is also survived by his children, Ronald (Janet) Ferrell, Manitou Beach, Michigan; Dennis (Julie) Ferrell, Custar and Carol (Craig) Schramm, West Hartford, Connecticut; 7 grandchildren, Scott Ferrell, Morgan Kloster, Katelyn Peterson, Benjamin Ferrell, Christopher Ferrell, Brian Schramm and Michael Schramm; 5 great grandchildren, Breanne, Annabelle and Mary Kloster; Amaya and Dylan Peterson; and brother, Clarence "Cork" Ferrell, Custar.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler. Interment will be in Richfield Township Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at the Westhope Bible Church.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Gideons or Cherry Street Mission.
