Vergia Gallagher, 98, of McClure, Ohio died Friday evening, February 19, 2010 surrounded by her family at Golden Living Center-Northcrest in Napoleon.
Vergia Gallagher, 98, of McClure, Ohio died Friday evening, February 19, 2010 surrounded by her family at Golden Living Center-Northcrest in Napoleon.
She was born February 18, 1912 in Holgate, Ohio to the late Richard & Mary Jane (Osborn) Hill. She married Earnest Desgrange and then Darcy Gallagher.
Vergia worked at Campbell Soup Co. in Napoleon, Ohio for over 25 years. She was a member of the McClure United Methodist Church. Her joys in life were her grandchildren and playing cards.
She is survived by a son, Rolland "Sonny" & Lavonne Desgrange of McClure and 2 step daughters, 3 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, and 7 step great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a grandson, Rick Desgrange, 2 step sons and 2 step daughters, sisters and brothers, Ethel Wanless, Vera Miller, Clara Geahlen, Helen Moore, Mary Harrison, and Burdette and Raymond Hill.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-9pm at Rodenberger Funeral Home in McClure.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Boyd Shugert and Pastor Robert Shidler officiating. Interment will follow at Beaver Creek Cemetery in Grand Rapids, Ohio.
The family request memorials to the McClure United Methodist Church or Country Chapel Christian Union Church of Napoleon.
