Joann Arlene Newell, 73, of Deshler, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.

August 11, 1936-March 10, 2010Joann Arlene Newell, 73, of Deshler, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.
She was born August 11, 1936 in Leipsic to the late Vaun G. and Ruth (Crow) Keeran. On August 11, 1954 she married Dale Irwin Newell in Lima and he preceded her in death on December 3, 1979.
Joann was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. She was a 1954 graduate of Leipsic High School and formerly worked at Claude Sintz, Deshler. She was a member of the former Belmore United Methodist Church and an avid bingo player.
She is survived by daughter, Judy (William) Cotterman, Deshler; three sons, David (Denise) Newell, Continental; James (Anna) Newell, Deshler; Thomas (Renee) Newell, North Baltimore; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren and 6 step great great grandchildren; sister, Sandra Kidd, North Baltimore; five brothers, Gerald Keeran, Findlay; Kent (Sharon) Keeran, Belmore; Norman (Karen) Keeran, Oklahoma; Paul (Jennifer) Keeran, Pandora and Roger (Denise) Keeran, McComb.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Randall; two grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Friday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler.Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and 1-2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
