Ella Rathge, 91, of Defiance, Ohio died Friday morning, March 19, 2010 at the Henry County Hospital.
Ella Rathge, 91, of Defiance, Ohio died Friday morning, March 19, 2010 at the Henry County Hospital. She was born September 19, 1918 in Napoleon Twp. to the late Henry & Anna (Helberg) Drewes. On May 19, 1940, she married Edwin H. Rathge at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp., who preceded her in death on August 16, 1999.
Ella was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp., where she was a member of the Women of Life.
She is survived by a son, Burdette (Donna) Rathge of Napoleon; daughter, Linda Rathge of Defiance; grandsons, Jeff (Sheryl) Rathge, Joel (Dana Skinner) Rathge, and great grandchildren, Justin, Haley, and Regan. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Fred & Arthur Drewes; and sister, Hilda Behrman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 22 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Napoleon Twp. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-8pm at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and Monday 1hr prior to the funeral at the church.
The family suggests memorials to St. Paul's Improvement Fund, The Lutheran Home of Napoleon, or Hospice The Caring Way of Defiance.
