Leroy Warncke, 74, of Napoleon, Ohio died Monday morning at the Henry County Hosptial.
LeRoy Warncke, 74, of Napoleon, Ohio died Monday, April 26, 2010 at the Henry County Hospital in Napoleon. He was born August 23, 1935 to the late Fred H. and Minnie I. (Gerken) Warncke. He was formerly married to Jean McMasters of Defiance, Ohio,
LeRoy recently retired from the contract sales area at Rausch Lumber Company. During the years previous to Rausch, he worked for several different lumber companies, including Wolohan, Wicks, and Starr Lumber. Prior to contract sales, LeRoy was a brick mason for several local construction companies including Sa-Go Construction, Crown and Baker-Shindler. At one point, he owned his own company, Warncke Construction. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon, a member of the Bricklayers Union and the Napoleon Lions Club. He was a proud member of the US Army Reserves for 35 Years.
He is survived by daughters, Tammy (Lyle) Davis of Denver, Indiana and Patty Taylor of Auburn, Indiana ; granddaughters, Grace Davis and Sydnie Taylor; brothers James Warncke of Napoleon, Ohio and Frederick (Barbara) Warncke of Defiance, Ohio; sisters, Marilyn (Jim) Ankney of Arthur. Ohio, and Wilmina Sechler of Payne, Ohio; and a special friend, Dorothy Walker of Napoleon, Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, April 29, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon, Ohio officiating Pastor James Castello. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the church. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Defiance, Ohio at 3:00 p.m. following the lunch.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Napoleon Lions Club, Emanuel Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
