Catherine Gerschutz, 92, of Deshler, Ohio died Wednesday evening, April 28, 2010 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, Ohio.

January 17, 1918-April 28, 2010Catherine Gerschutz, 92, of Deshler, Ohio died Wednesday evening, April 28, 2010 at the Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay, Ohio.
She was born January 17, 1918 in Hamler, Henry County, Ohio to the late Raymond F. and Mary Agnes (Konzen) Gordon. On June 6, 1942 she married Francis G. Gerschutz at St. Paul Catholic Church, Hamler and he preceded her in death on May 11, 1997.
Catherine was a homemaker and very devoted to her family. She graduated from Deshler High School and worked at the former IMCO (Koppenhoffer Brothers) Poultry of Deshler. She always enjoyed quilting, card playing, baking and making rosaries.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler and its Rosary Mission Guild and Immaculata Prayer Group. She was active with the Henry County Senior Citizens and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by six children; Mary (Jerry) Van Horn, Temperance, Michigan; Shirley (DonL) Parsons, St. Louis, Missouri; Jim (Bette) Gerschutz, Custar, Ohio; Norma (Tom) Roe, Weston, Ohio; Marvin (Tricia) Gerschutz, Holgate, Ohio and Linda (Gary) Smith, Hamler; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Rita Neiling, Deshler; Sister Madelyn Gordon, RSM, Fremont, Ohio and Clara Pittelkow, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and three brothers, Robert (Leoma) Gordon, Crestline, Ohio; Donald (RoseMary) Gordon, Piqua, Ohio and Walter (Ramona) Gordon, Findlay.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Haffner.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Deshler with Fr. Paul Fahrbach and Fr. Jeff Nordhaus officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Deshler and a luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler where a Rosary Service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
The family suggest memorials to Immuculate Conception Parish Foundation or the Rosary Mission Guild.
