James Reichert, 80, of Napoleon, Ohio died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Laurels of Defiance.
James E. Reichert, 80, of Napoleon, Ohio died Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Laurels of Defiance. He was born September 20, 1929 in Napoleon to the late Leonard & Mildred (Goslin) Reichert. On July 31, 1950 he married Nancy Parker, who survives him.
Jim owned & operated his family business, Reichert Jewelry Store in Napoleon for 30 years. He then added and operated a store in Naples, FL for 20 years, where he and his wife lived.
Jim was a former president of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce, member of Rotary International, Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks, and member of the American Legion, all of Napoleon; and member of the Kiwanis Club in Naples. Jim and Nancy also opened the first Teen Center in Napoleon. He served as Lt. Colonel in the United States Army Reserve.
He is also survived by sons, Ron Reichert of Napoleon, and Mike Reichert of Defiance; a daughter, Cindy (Bill) Cunard of Satellite Beach, FL; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, a sister, Marian Moden of Napoleon; and a brother, Robert Reichert of Sarasota, FL.
A memorial gathering will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon. Funeral services will be private. He will be interred at Riverview Memory Gardens, Defiance.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriners Hosptials for Children, Alzheimer’s Foundation, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
