Mary J. Flory, 78, of Napoleon died Thursday evening at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee.
Mary J. Flory, 78, of Napoleon, Ohio died Thursday, July 8 at St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee, Ohio. She was born November 11, 1931 in Flatrock Twp., to the late Arthur and Marie (Mangas) Like. On December 27, 1958, she married Donald G. Flory at the St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon, Ohio.
Mary graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1950 and attended Mercy School of Nursing. She continued her nursing career until her retirement in 1996 from Country View Haven. Mary previously worked at the former Heller Memorial Hospital, the Defiance Hospital and other local hospitals and nursing facilities. She was a devoted and dedicated member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon and a former Eucharistic Minister. She was a 20 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #300 and a member of the Women's Knights of Columbus Auxiliary both of Napoleon.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald G. Flory of Napoleon, Ohio; and children, Teresa (David) Damman of Napoleon, Ohio; Amy (Jeff) Sierer of Defiance, Ohio; Michael (Peg) Flory of Napoleon, Ohio; Stephen (Jenny) Flory of Pearland, Texas; David Flory of Archbold, Ohio; grandchildren, Krista (Joe) Howard, Sarah (Curtis) Wilson, Kayla, Jessica and Lucas Damman, Emma Sierer, Elena, Joshua and Matthew Flory; sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Lemon of Malinta, Ohio; Rose (David) Ellis of Tucson, Arizona; Margaret Heitman of Marietta, Ohio, Debbie (David) Mathews of Hyattsville, MD, and a brother, Paul Like of Napoleon, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard and Tommy Like.
A mass of christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon officiating Father Daniel Borgelt. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call on Monday from 2-8 p.m.. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon. A scripture service will be held at the funeral home at 8:00 p.m.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church or School.
