Henry C. Winkelman, 93, of Napoleon, Ohio died Thursday evening, July 22, 2010 at the Henry County Hospital, Napoleon, Ohio.
Henry C. Winkelman, 93, of Napoleon, Ohio died Thursday, July 22, 2010 at the Henry County Hospital.
Henry was born January 16, 1917 to the late Fred and Dora (Eggers) Winkelman on the family homestead in Freedom Township, Ohio where he lived his entire life. On May 16, 1943 he married Delora Helberg who survives.
Henry was a lifelong farmer and served as a Freedom Twp. Trustee. He was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Twp. and served in various church positions.
He is also survived by daughters, Jane (Roger) Petersen of Hamler, Ohio, Lois (Geoffrey) Lowery of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Joyce (Ted) Rohrs of Napoleon, Ohio. Grandchildren, Brent (Linda) Petersen, Brian (Linda) Petersen, Kathy (Eric) Shaver, Shannon Lowery, Aaron (Kayla) Lowery, Krista (Doug) Brown, and Eric Rohrs. Great Grandchildren, Logan Petersen, Megan Petersen, and Drew Brown; and sister, Anna Damman of Napoleon. He was preceded in death by sisters, Helene Schweinhagen and Laura Vocke.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 26 at St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Twp. with Pastor Stephen Niermann officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and Monday 1 hr prior the service at the church.
The family suggests memorials to the St. John Lutheran Memorial Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
